Record radio.garden? World radio with recording on a Mac.

The website radio.garden showed millions how beautiful radio can be: a spinning globe where every green dot is a station. There's just one thing radio.garden cannot do – record. If you don't just want to hear a station from Tokyo, Havana or Reykjavik but keep the songs, you need a radio recorder. StreamWriter Studio brings both together: its own 3D globe with Apple Maps looks, and recording with automatic track splitting right behind it.

How the globe works in StreamWriter Studio

Open the globe view and spin the earth: thousands of geolocated stations glow as dots on the satellite map. Use the globe search and the camera flies straight to a city or station. Clicking a dot shows name, country, bitrate and codec – Play or Record is exactly one click away.

From globe to finished music library

From the moment you hit record, the normal StreamWriter workflow takes over: every song is saved as its own MP3 based on stream metadata, cleanly tagged with real album artwork. A trip around the globe grows into a library of music no ready-made playlist can offer – from Japanese city pop to Cuban son.

    Keep using radio.garden?

Of course – for browsing, radio.garden remains wonderful. Many stations you meet there can be found again in StreamWriter Studio by name or stream URL, ready to record. StreamWriter Studio is independent and not affiliated with radio.garden.

    Frequently asked questions

    Can radio.garden itself record?

No. radio.garden is made for discovering and listening – it has no recording feature.

Is the globe in StreamWriter Studio the same as radio.garden?

The idea is similar (stations on a spinning globe), but it's an independent feature of its own – with Apple Maps satellite imagery and recording attached directly.

How many stations are on the globe?

Thousands of geolocated stations worldwide, plus a search that flies the camera right to the match. Even more stations are available in the classic directory with tens of thousands of entries.

    Are songs split automatically?

Yes. Globe stations too are saved song by song as individual MP3s, tagged with artist, title and real album artwork.
